Westport Festival is a vibrant, summer music & food festival set in the heart of the West of Ireland. Located on the scenic grounds of Westport House, the event features incredible international musical acts, comedy, food, beer and more in a truly relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
For this project I was contracted by Room150, a digital production company based in Dublin, to provide a complete re-brand of this year's festival. My brief was to create a new visual brand identity which was fun, exciting, vibrant and alive and would reflect the diversity of the event, the musicians and indeed the charming, cultural town of Westport itself. The festival tagline is "The West is Calling" and my aim was to represent that visually.
With such a diverse range of acts and experiences on offer, it was important develop an identity which would appeal not only to men and women, young and old, but to families also. Keeping this in mind, we ultimately settled on a versatile logomark that incorporated a variety of circular shapes which we felt best defined the brand's personality. The vibrant, energetic colour palette and clean typeface will lend itself well to future event merchandising.
